As this is my first post in the month of August, I thought I would start with a little Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows spoiler: Beware if you don't want the ending ruined!!
Here are my thoughts about what I loved:
1. The resolution of Snape. When he is complaining to Dum. that they have just been raising Harry to slaughter, Dum replies "have you come to care for him?" At first I thought Snape said he always cared about Harry, but re-reading, it is clear. Snape's reply is "For HIM?" Then he casts his patronus, which is in the same shape as Lily's. Dumbledore understands that everything Snape has done to fight Voldemort was for Lily. Looking back, it is really hard to believe that Snape ever cared for Harry. He was so vicious. But I loved finally seeing why Snape probably hated James so much, and that Lily (even though it was her death) is what made him go to the "good side" after being a death eater.
2. I loved how weak Voldemort really was. I mean, he was so egocentric and belived he had the corner on the market for everything. He was too vain to believe any one would figure out his secret. Even Bellatrix didn't know what the goblet was, just that she would be dead meat if something happened to it! I also liked the link Harry shared with him, it was very helpful. It seems strange that the link returned after a whole year of not seeing V's thoughts, but it made you understand how Harry himself could be a horcrux, and Vold. probably wasn't closing his mind either, he was too obsessed with finding the wand.
3. I loved that Snape's patronus was a doe. Such a gentle creature... shows his love for Lily. (Or is it obsession?)
4. I loved that Hermione totally "snogs" Ron after he speaks up for the house elves. Ron really matured.
5. I loved that Nevel pulled the sword out of the sorting hat! Brilliant!
6. Mrs. Weasley Killing Bellatrix...I didn't think she had it in her, but it must have been her mothering instincts to protect!!
There are lots of other good things in the book, but there were some annoying things too:
1. Why did they have to camp for so long? It was a little tiresome how long it took them to figure things out.
2. I also wanted more details...i.e. what happened to the Malfoys, did they ever get punished? How was the ministry straightened out? Was Ginny a stay at home mom like her mother? How could Hermione be in the ministry? I though for sure she would really fight for house-elf rights!
3. What was with the crying baby when Harry "died?" That was disturbing.

My thought on the crying baby was that it was the dead Horcrux part of Harry. I think Harry told Voldemort later that he'd seen what Voldemort would look like and it wasn't pretty, so that's what I got out of it.
Glad you liked it (and I thought they camped for too long, too).
I thought that the crying baby was Voldemort and what was left of his soul. When Harry decides to live we learn that Voldemort was also knocked out. So I just thought that the baby thing was Voldemort.
I didn't really mind how long they camped. Harry needed time to realize that he was the one who was supposed to take charge. Also they had very few leads to go off of. One of my favorite scenes was when Dobby died and Harry FINALLY grew up and accepted his responsibility. We see him totally change in just a few minutes. He became the Harry he needed to be to defeat Voldemort. This book had great character development.
