SO "Frusterated"!

I'm not sure why, but lately (meaning the last 2 months) I have been kind of irritable. Could it have something to do with hormones? Or something? I don't know. I'm not pregnant or anything. Often when Alana does something that irks me I give an exasperated sigh. Alana has picked up on this and asks: "Mommy, you are just SO frusterated!"

She's quite perceptive. Not that you'd have to be Sherlock to figure out when I'm crabby or anything. The bad thing is that I have noticed her behavior when things don't go her way. For example, just now she came in and said "Mom, my Dad is in time OUT!" When I asked why, she replied, "because he said something mean to me." Her tone was very "frusterated".

Something Elder Ballard said in his talk "Mothers and Daughters" really hit me.

We have a family friend who travels often with members of her extended family. Her primary observation after each trip is how much the young women behave like their mothers. If the mothers are thrifty, so are their daughters. If the mothers are modest, so are the girls. If the mothers wear flip-flops and other casual clothing to sacrament meeting, so do their daughters. Mothers, your example is extremely important to your daughters—even if they don’t acknowledge it.

That's pretty heavy. I guess I'll work on my attitude. :)

I agree, but it's the same with boys. I am WAY too often saying "Max! Stop! You are driving me crazy!" The other day in the car I was happily singing some random song and in the back seat I hear..."MOM! Stop singing! It's driving me crazy!" Oops :)

Uh.....yeah. I need to work on my attitude too, I tend to get pretty "frusterated" myself. Thanks for the reminder.

Z's been growling when he's frustrated...totally a copy of me. I've really gotta fix some language issues before he starts copying that too!

That is a good reminder. I AM pregnant, so I guess I have an excuse to be irritable (and believe me, I am quite often these days), but I know I could be much sweeter and set a better example for Sophie.
