I started writing this on Feb 17, 2013 and forgot to publish it:
Obviously, the biggest event of the month was Alana's birthday! Today she is five! I better stop blinking because next time I do she'll be grown! Four has been such a fun age! Alana is such a precocious, thoughtful, and curious child. She asks really deep questions and LOVES to explore the outdoors. For her birthday we got her some binoculars and a butterfly net. The first thing she did was head outside (in her fancy Sunday dress) to explore. It is still pretty soggy here, but she managed to stay out of the muddy snow that covers our yard!
Some things about Alana:
1. She is very loving. She loves to try and pick up her baby sister.
2. She loves to help most of the time.
3. Lately she has taken up a painting/coloring/drawing career. She'll spend hours a day on her pictures!
4. The other day she told me she wants to be a carpenter when she grows up! Sweet! Jesus was a carpenter!
5. When she is hungry she turns into someone that we don't know. Kind of like Jekyll and Hyde. I have learned that if she is being disrespectful, grumpy, or outright rude, then I need to get food in her ASAP!
6. Her favorite foods are dark red kidney beans (don't try and give her the light red kind), rice (both of those with parmesan cheese on top), blueberries, fruit of any kind, and McDonald's chicken nuggets.
7. Her favorite books: Poems, mother goose rhymes.
8. Her favorite songs: I love to See the Temple and I Like to Look for Rainbows.
