Non-Stress Christmas Eve

Well, last night Crystal was getting worried because she hadn't felt the baby move all afternoon or evening. The baby started making a few small movements later at night (the movements were nothing compared to the twisting, turning and kicking she had been doing). Anyway, thanks to the fact that Crystal inherited her mom's "worry genes" Crystal got even more stressed this morning when the baby didn't move AT ALL from 8-11:30. She called the clinic and they told her to go to Perinatology at the hospital for a non-stress test. Anyway, we went in, they measured the amniotic fluid with an ultra-sound and then monitored the baby's heart rate and movement for about 30 minutes. It was so nice to hear her heartbeat, it stayed up around 150, except when she started moving, then it went up to 175-ish (which is normal).

Apparently this little gal, who was head down at the appointment on Wednesday, decided to flip over sometime in the last few days, so Crystal didn't feel the baby kicking her hips. Hopefully she'll make the final flip to a "head-down" position in the next 5 or so weeks! Regardless, she is very healthy and it turns out (as Stuart believed all along) that there was nothing wrong! He says he would know instinctively if something were wrong. I guess "Mother's intuition" belongs to fathers as well! :)

We went through something like that :) I think us girls are just more paranoid than our boys. We are the ones feeling what's going on inside! Glad everything is ok!

We had an experience like this....and it is just reassuring to go in and hear the babies heart beat. It is getting close, I am excited for you guys!
