After lunch I sometimes let the Dear little Toddler have a "treat" (usually fruit snacks). This isn't a reward for eating her food, but more just to enjoy something yummy. (BTW, I call fruit snacks a "treat" because they're really like sugar snacks with vitamin c added.) Anyway, since she can say more, and she saw where I got the fruit snacks, as soon as she was done she signed and said "mo." I told her that we were done, explained that she had her treat for the day and we don't want to eat too many treats because we need to eat the good stuff to grow healthy and strong. (I realize a 1 year old doesn't get this.) Needless to say, she was NOT happy with me!

While preparing dinner, I left the sweet child in the living room to play. After a few minutes I realized it was quiet...too quiet (I know, mom alarm is going off, isn't it?). My first thought was "the bathroom door is closed." But then I stopped and thought, and rushed to the bathroom. Sure enough, there was our cherub, dipping her binky in the toilet and swishing around. She was rather mad at me for boiling her binky. Really, this just made me laugh...and made me feel a little queasy. She had the hiccips immediately after, and I don't even want to think about what she swallowed. I don't need to call poison control do I?

Popcorn popping. I set her on the chair to watch it pop in the microwave, and when it was done put some in a bowl while I finished dinner. She LOVES it! After she was done she kept saying "help" and pointing up. It only took a couple of times of her doing this for me to see her binky and realize she wanted "help" getting the binky of the counter because she couldn't reach it. So I can claim one success: at least she asks for help when there's something she can't get instead of crying for it. We're communicating (if I can just pay attention!!)

"Is your Mama a Llama?" This is a CUTE cute book! We checked it out from the library and my girl LOVED it!

Tantrum at the library. Yeah, today was kind of a tantrum day. (for the baby, not for me, although...) I'm not sure if she's teething again, or just passing some milestone. Maybe she's frustrated about her lack of ability to put the megablocks together. She always wants my help. I don't know.

4th day this week of nursing only 1 time. I know I wasn't going to "try" and wean her. Maybe I was just more opposed to taking it away all at once. But since there really isn't much milk left anyway, I just try and give lots of extra cuddles. She has been more cuddly lately too, which is nice.
Yes, all my highlights had to do with our child. Except this last one
#7: Crystal gets off the computer and snuggles with Stuart (who got home at 7:30, after the baby was in bed!). :)

Loved these! I don't think poison control needs to be called when toilet water is ingested. The water is clean... whether the bowl is is a different story. Alana is so cute. It was fun seeing you two last week! Feel free to stop by anytime you are out my way. Love ya!
Oh gross...It makes me shudder that she put her binky in the toilet! What is it with kids and pets and their obsession with the toilet?! I'm glad you boiled it even though she was mad!!
I can't wait to live closer so I can go on "outings" with you guys!! P.S. we'll be down Saturday to look for a casa!
