Figuring it out.

So far life with 2 kids has been a little more chaotic, and a bit more sleep-deprived. But I'm starting to feel like I'll be able to handle days by myself when DH starts work next month! Here are some highlights from our little ones:

This morning I got up with the Girl and the first thing she said was "Watch Woody." In my defense, DH has been getting up with her since the baby was born, and apparently the first thing they do is watch Toy Story. When I said "let's have breakfast first" frantic screaming ensued. You would have thought I told her I was going to throw her binky away!

Sweet C is just that: SWEET! What a dear little thing! She likes to be held most of the time, and today we think we figured out the source of her aversion to her bassinet and swing: they don't smell like us. She sleeps great next to me in bed (except that means I don't sleep, co-sleeping is synonymous with no-sleeping to me), and she even sleeps well alone on the couch. But unfortunately neither DH nor I have every slept in the swing or pack n play, so our scent is absent. We're going to try and make those sleepy places smell like us so Sweet C will sleep there...

New sentences the girl says:
"I DON'T like that."
"I want some ice cream."
"Put it in a cup." (she is very specific about how she likes her grapes served).
"I LOVE strawberries."
"Put baby in swing."

Chunky babies are SO cute, and we're thinking Baby C will be a chunk! Her cheeks are already filling out and the rolls on her arms and legs and delightful!

You could try putting a shirt you've worn in the play pen or swing. My sister would put a "dirty" shirt in and keep it underneath her babies so they always had her scent right there. It worked great for her!

I agree about the co-sleeping, the times I've had to/tried to with Nicholette have left me sleep deprived (even more do :P ). Your doing great and what cute girls.

P.S. I'm reading some of the books you recommended before I come so I have a better understanding and I guess more thought out questions. Thank you!
