Christmas

This year we spent Christmas Eve at our own home (the first time since we were married) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We later went to Granny & Grandpa D's for lunch and the "E" house for dinner! We missed Uncle Taylor, Aunt Julie, Uncle Lance, Aunt Whit, and Uncle Evan, but other than that it was perfect!!

We still aren't sure how to approach Santa Claus (please don't hate me if DH tells our kids Santa doesn't exist, which he did this year, and then our kids tell your kids.) We're trying to reach a compromise where we have the "magic" of Christmas, but focus on the Savior and don't tell our kids lies about chimneys and reindeer. Ha ha! I sort of hate the commercialism of Christmas anyway. This year in my parents' family, we all drew names and wrote letters to that person with our testimony and memories of that person (yours is coming Julie & Lance...sorry!) We got the sweetest note from my youngest sister, who is 9, and it was a perfect gift. We also wrote the same kind of letter to our parents, and they loved it. It was way better than any store-bought present!

Anyway, here are our super cute kids!! We hope you had a fabulous Christmas and that you will feel the peace the Savior brings all year round!

ahem..."someone" forgot to make sure the flash was on, this was the best pic of presents being opened. Oh well, I guess it's fitting! :)

Just LOOK at that face!! I adore those cheeks!!
