My Charlotte is One!

We just adore our Sweet C. The pictures tell the story of what she's up to these days:

What a great summer we've had! This little gal LOVES being outside. It's wonderful to have a backyard, and since learning to walk, she has started developing a keen interest in shoes. Being able to walk sure gives her a whole new world to explore. Oh, and did I mention that almost every time we go outside she ends up with dirt in her mouth? This kid. Hopefully she'll have an awesome immune system.


Charlotte has been learning how to brush her teeth. All two of them. She loves her Cookie Monster toothbrush.



This little gal loves love LOVES her sister. I'm excited for the day when they will be old enough to play together without me worrying that Alana is pushing, hitting, or sitting on her...

Stairs are, of course, a favorite. I wouldn't mind this so much, but the only available stairs are these concrete ones and the stone steps leading to our backyard. She requires a lot of supervision!



She is perfecting the art of walking. When I watch her walk, I can't help but smile. She is still quite chubby, so it's more of a waddle. Her walking is so awkward and not too efficient yet, but it's apparent that she is so happy to be on her own two feet. (That doesn't mean she doesn't like being held anymore, she says "up" to me about every 10-20 minutes!)




She still nurse 4-5 times a day, but NOT AT NIGHT! Woot! What a relief to night wean her, I'm much less tired these days. She loves nursing and at this point I have no plans to stop. (Hope this picture isn't offensive to anyone, I can't imagine how it could be, but I'm all for promoting nursing when possible and helping people realize what breasts are for!)

It has been an amazing year! We feel so blessed to be the parents of this sweet little spirit. She makes us smile, and we just love her snuggles.

Yes, I know it has been 8 days since her birthday. I hope she forgives me for not being on top of this birthday post!
