Not even a week in and I've missed a day. That's ok, I have a great excuse. I was bedridden all day yesterday with mastitis. I had to leave in the afternoon for my 6-week post partum appointment. It was hard answering the depression screening questions because I felt like crap, but I promised my midwife that, so far, I don't have depression and
Also, I was able to take care of Seth's tongue-tie. He was born with a tight frenulum (the part that attaches the tongue to the bottom of the mouth) and it came out toward the tip of the tongue. It wasn't a terrible tongue-tie, but I am pretty sure he wasn't draining me enough when he ate, thus my two episodes with mastitis. (I had it right before Christmas too). Anyway, I'm hoping the tongue tie revision will help him when he eats to swallow less air so that he won't be as gassy, which in turn may help with his spitting up.
At least the tongue-tie wasn't affecting his ability to get enough milk. In a little less than 6 weeks, he has gone from 8 lbs, down to 7 lbs 8 oz the day after his birth, up to 13 lbs 4 oz today. He is such a cute little chunk!!
