For Christmas Mom gave me the gift of buying me a dress after the baby was born to wear for her blessing, rather than buying my maternity clothes! I am very grateful for the gift (although trying on clothes with my post-pregnant body was a bit depressing!) So today my mom, Julie, Whitney, Alana, and I went shopping for a blessing dress! After going to "Dressed in White" and getting sticker shock at the $80 dress that wasn't that cute, we went to the Distribution Center and found one we liked for $28.
Next we headed to the mall. For some reason I thought that an empire-waist dress would be flattering, but nothing could have brought more emphasis to my roly-poly tummy!! (Ha ha, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that my body is SO different...the sad part is that I don't feel any bigger, but when I have to wear 2 sizes bigger than I used to...I know I know, I JUST had a baby...it's still depressing!) Anyway, we found a really cute dress that I can nurse the baby while wearing. My mom bought Stuart some shirts that I picked out for his birthday. THANKS Mom!! (I was getting tired of Stuart wearing the same 3 shirts over and over!)
Julie held Alana most of the time we were out, and of course everyone just ooohed and ahhhed over Alana, asking "how old is she?" Julie wanted to make it clear that she was not Alana's mom! It reminds me of when Sharolynn was born (except I was 17) and everyone thought she was my baby! I'm glad Alana is my baby! She is just so much fun!

On a different note, I will explain the pictures. The picture of Alana holding the highlighter is because I realized the other day that if she could hold my finger, she could grasp other things. It's especially funny because she really has no idea she is holding the highlighter!

The pictures of Alana in the car seat are because Julie wanted pics of her when she's awake! She was looking EVERYWHERE. We're kind of obsessed with our super cute baby!!!

Yeah for mothers! Your mom is great! Isn't it amazing how much you appreciate your mother more when you're a mom? Alana really is beautiful!
