Alliterating is fun and easy when your baby's name starts with the letter "a".
For the first adventure we'd like to share, I need to get on a soapbox about diapers. It seems no matter how well we secure them, they still leak. Stupid Huggies. Actually, the cheap Walmart kind has been better for us than Huggies...
Anyway, on to the story. Yesterday Alana and I ventured to Walmart to get the oil changed and meanwhile do some grocery shopping. She has just started wearing size 2 diapers (yea!) and we thought it would cause less leaks. Usually, her diapers leak in the back, it's pretty gross and I'll spare you details. Anyway, I had finished my shopping and ALana was sitting in her seat when I noticed her front was ALL wet. I smelled it, and I wasn't sure if I had spilled something on her or what. A few minutes later a light orange spot appeared. Turns out it was mustard yellow baby poo. I have no idea how it leaked out the front, but I had to strip her down in the back seat of the car, poor thing. Luckily I thought to bring the diaper bag and there was an extra outfit, or she would have ridden home in nothing but her di-di!

We are also having lots of fun with our rolling, shrieking (yes, it's very loud!) and cooing baby! In fact, a few weeks ago, right during the sacrament prayer, she let out a shriek that would have put a 2 year old to shame! Seriously, it was almost funny, I couldn't believe my baby did that. Not that I have illusions that my children will behave perfectly in church or anything. I just didn't know she could be that loud!

Last night was an interesting night. Alana fell asleep about 7:30, and I figured she'd wake up to eat one more time. She did wake up at 9:30 just to eat a little, but when back to bed. THEN at 1:30 she was hungry again. THEN, at 5:00 AM she was awake and hungry. But after that she wanted to PLAY! The people upstairs had been up all night with their baby and we heard the squeaks of the floor all night. Needless to say, we're a little sleep deprived today. But we'll make it!

We absolutely love being parents. Before we had Alana, I wondered if I should just wait until Stuart was done with school to get pregnant. I could have worked and we'd have been financially stable, no student loans or anything. Now I can't imagine life without her. She is so cute. She smiles at me whenever I go to pick her up, and it feels awesome to know that she knows who I am! I can tell she is confident that I'll take care of her!

She's getting so big so fast! Enjoy having Stuart home!
She is such a cutie. Isn't it amazingly fun to have kids.
Costco diapers are awesome, awesome, awesome!! If you don't have a membership, find someone who does and go with them when they shop. Try them, you won't regret it!
Kaden hasn't shreiked in church yet, but during the sacrament he filled his diaper and the entire back of the building was laughing along with us. It was pretty funny.
That's so funny! I'll have to pay attention to any shrieking I hear during the sacrament. :)
