Baby tag

I stole this from Angie. Thanks!

1. Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? At home in my bathroom.
2. Who was with you? Stuart was home...I think. Now I can't remember.
3. What was your first reaction? Supreme Joy! I was SO excited!
4. What was your husband's reaction? He didn't believe me at first. We had had a false positive before, so he was skeptical the first few weeks.
5. Who was the first person you told? Stuart of Course.
6. Were the pregnancies planned? Definitely!
7. Was everyone happy for you? yes
8. What was the sex? Girl
9. Did anyone throw a shower for you? Beth & Gaye for work, Tiffany and Rosalee for friends, and my sister and mom for the family.
10. Did you get any outfits you wouldn't use? We got this adorable coat that was too big, and by the time she was big enough for it, it was warm outside.
11. How much weight did you gain? 25 lbs.
12. Did you get stretch marks? My belly looks like a tiger.
13. Did you crave anything crazy? Not really specific. I ate a lot of Hawaiian pizza and salad.
14. Who or what got on your nerves the most? My Students' psycho parents bugged me so bad!
15. Where were you when you went into labor? At home, asleep.
16. Did you have any complications? Apparently I wasn't progressing fast enough, so I was put on pitocin, which required me to be on oxygen and made the baby's heart rate CRAZY! They whisked her away after she was born so I only got to hold her for 2 seconds. Next time will definitely be different!
17. Did your water break? Yes, but I wasn't sure if it had or not.
18. Who drove you to the hospital? Stuart
19. Did you go early or late? pretty much on time. Due dates are estimates people, come on! (technically I was 8 days "past due" but she wasn't even 8 pounds.
20. Who was in the room? Dr. Wosley, L&D nurse, pediatric nurse, and Stuart.
21. Did you video tape it? no
22. Did you have any pain medication? I got the epidural about an hour after the pitocin. Anyone who has to be injected with crazy cow hormone because they aren't "progressing" should probably get one. I plan on not going to the hospital next time until I'm in transition. I HATED the epidural, I couldn't feel anything, I pushed uselessly for 2 hours, and was so helpless and bored.
23. Did you have a c-section or natural? Vaginal birth, but had an epidural. Looking back, it shocks me that I went 9 months being so careful not to put bad things in my body, but suddenly I'm in labor and wham! Narcotics are ok? sheesh! (can you tell I'm bitter about my birth experience?)
24. What was your reaction to the birth? Initially impatience and euphoria. But later, annoyance that it wasn't the wonderful, empowering experience, and that my baby had complications.
25. How big was the baby? 7 lbs 10 oz
26. Did your husband cry? yes. But I didn't see it.
27. When is the next one coming? Soon.
28. If you could would you do it all over again? Of course. It was one of the greatest moments of my life!

Nice tag! Babies are wonderful aren't they! I hope that your next birth goes the way you want it to. I have another friend who is planning on doing hypnobirthing when she has her baby in March. It sounds pretty cool. You should take a class on it when you're pregnant again.

Congratulations! I'm super excited for you! I was wondering when you answered "soon" on that question. If you want info about that hypnobirthing class my friend is taking I can get it for you. Love ya!
P.S. David was in an accident today. Our car is smooshed. :(
