Baby vs Toddler

Alana and Charlotte have been cracking me up lately. Among their great qualities, they sure know how to make people laugh! Well, maybe it's just me, since I'm their Mother and all.

Today at lunch part of our conversation went like this:

Alana: Charlotte is a toddler, she's not a baby anymore.
Me: That's right.
Alana: Because Charlotte doesn't eat bwest milk anymore, she drinks normal milk.
Me: That's true.
We went on to discuss the properties of cow's milk. After typing this story I realized it probably isn't that funny, but to hear my almost 3 year old explain that Charlotte is weaned (pretty much) was just amazing to me. Isn't it funny how quickly kids make connections?

At dinner time, Alana tried to pull a little reverse psychology on me. She wanted her Cinderella water bottle, which was in her room. She asked me to go get it. I was willing, but realized that was something she could do all on her own, so I invited her to go get it. She said "OK," and then said "you'd better hurry Mom, I'm going to go get it if you don't go get it," and started counting. I hope that isn't the end of my ability to use that strategy to get her to do things. You see, any time I want her to do something and she is resisting, I just challenge her by saying things like "hurry, get those toys before I get them," or "Find your pants before I find them." It works quite well. Anyone have any new strategies?

Picture posts coming soon!!
Charlotte is just too cute! As always. And yes, she is almost weaned. And Alana thinks she's married (to Jake in the Big Kid Temple) and has a baby in her tummy. Isn't that funny? ;)

I miss you! These stories make me laugh, but also make me sad...you guys should move back to Provo!

Okay, okay, I know how impractical that is, we do need to get together more often though!
