Alana January 2012

Where do I begin with Alana? Such a huge personality in such a small body!

This month Alana has told me more times than I can count that I'm the best mommy ever. And whatever that number is, if you double it, that is how many times she's told me I'm the worst/meanest mommy ever. Have I already written about that? Because I'm still waiting for "this too" to pass. And now Charlotte has picked up on it!

Alana is getting really good at writing her letters. A, X, T, O, and a few others. She likes to add swirls to the ends so that her "x" looks like a "j". She calls them "princess letters." She uses her blocks to build castles for her ponies, and gets really upset if anyone touches them.

Together with her partner in crime (a.k.a Charlotte) she loves to dump out every toy she owns, strip her bed (for optimal jumping experience), and run around playing "chase." She adores her baby sister and is such a great helper playing with her when I'm trying to get things done! I love having an almost 4-year-old! It rocks! Just in the last month she has become so responsible!

Another on of her favorite activities is "playing George on the computer." Pbskids.org has some great games, and the Curious George games are her favorite. I can get her to complete all of her jobs and help out, as well as get dressed and get her hair done if she knows that George is the reward. And she is amazingly adept at playing these games, many of which require grade-school math skills. She's a Whiz kid for sure!

Ha ha--glad it's not just my kids who "play with their toys" by dumping them all out. Maybe that is the "normal" way to play with them, and the manufacturers just have false advertising. Anyway, cute pictures, fun to read up. We miss you guys!
