Always part "Wright"

Last weekend was the Wright family (Stuart's maternal Grandmother) reunion. There were lots of people there, and I had a chance to sit and talk with Aunt Afton, Grandma Dear's sister. It was amazing to me that two people (Grandma Dear's parents) created such a great family! I'm excited to see what our posterity will look like!

The reunion was in Evanston. Stuart's dad was kind enough to pick us up as our car was in the shop. Thanks Alan! We missed the Hay ride to the ghost town, but I was surprisingly ok with that. We got there and it was a western theme. The food was yummy, and there were cute games for the kiddos. We played "Wright family Bingo" where the bingo boards had details of the family. Just a little info: the Wrights had 6 girls. Stuart's grandma is a twin with Aunt Deane. 5 of the sisters are still living. I learned that Afton was the baby of the family for 8 years, until Karen was born. Grandpa Wright would introduce the two youngest girls like this "This is Afton, she's the baby of the family. This is Karen, she's the youngest."

At the end of the day there was entertainment which included cowboy poetry. Aunt Deane's son performed, and then a friend of the family who hosted the reunion. The second cowboy kind of looks like George Strait. It was really fun!

On the way home I got extremely carsick, and going through Provo Canyon, Stuart was driving and almost hit a deer. Our reactions combined with her fatigue made Alana start screaming and she cried the rest of the way home. She's developing stranger anxiety (SAD!) and cried whenever I leave her! She doesn't cry around Stuart, but pretty much everyone else. I had hoped that one good thing about having a babysitter would be that she wouldn't react that way. I guess she was too young.

Anyway, to sum it up, it was a fun reunion, and was nice to be out in the wide open spaces of Wyoming! We only wish we could have stayed until after dark to see the stars without any light pollution!

Sorry you got sick and had a rough ride home. I'm glad that you had fun while you were there, though! I love family reunions!

I know all about that stranger axiety-Isaac still has it (at 15 months!). Hopefully it won't last that long for your little one. We haven't really left Isaac with anyone yet-I suppose we may just be making the problem worse. I just worry about him too much! I'm sure you understand that! :)
