It's been a while.

I've been blogging in my head for the past two weeks. Luckily I haven't had as ready access to a computer, so you are spared from my meandering thoughts (sort of).
Here's a little update from us:

First, I'm now 25. I know. I used to think I'd feel old by now, but 30 is looking pretty young the closer it gets. Birthdays are different when you're a mom. None of this "you don't have to do any chores on your birthday" stuff. You always have to do chores. I try to look at chores as my job though. It's just what I do, and I do it because I love my family. The best part of having a birthday is having a child, because I look at birthdays a little differently now. It's amazing not only what my mom did to get me here, but all the sacrifices of time, energy, money, etc... that it took for my parents to raise me. Thanks Mom & Dad.

Second, we saw Kung Fu Panda. Stuart loved it. I thought it was cute. I'm having a hard time lately really LOVING any movies. I'd rather read. Or just live real life, because that is more authentic than any of the movies I've seen lately.

Third, the daddy started school. What a cute daddy. He's very busy. Kind of stressed. But still loves playing with his baby Girl.

Fourth, I started teaching orchestra and actually have enjoyed myself. We'll see how tomorrow goes, but this morning I had 15 kids come and it was exciting to get to teach them how to hold a bow and glide it across the strings. I remember when I was taught that. It was exciting! I hope I can make a difference.

Fifth, Sarah Palin was chosen as McCain's running mate. (old news, I know). I have mixed feelings, because I think every mother should put her family first, and I don't know how she can possibly do that, and what are the implications for her children that she will spend very little time with them (and probably already does, as governor.) But I am also thrilled to have a woman who believes in the sanctity of life and seems strong, and yet feminine at the same time. Women don't have to be men to be equal.

Finally, we got the Baby Girl a high chair, and I let her play in it today. She had fun, as you can see!

I love reading about what your family has been doing. I can't believe how big your daughter is already!
