I realize that we are awesome picture takers. Here are the girls in their Christmas Eve jammies.
Since our darlings are still so young, we had a low-key Christmas Eve. We had already acted out the Nativity with the Dearden cousins, so we skipped that. Instead, we used pictures of Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Shepherds, the Wise Men, and the Angels and had Alana tell us the story. We added in where necessary.
We bore testimony to the girls (Charlotte was not listening) that we know that Jesus is our Savior and God's Son. Alana melted my heart by telling us that she has a testimony too. (It amazes me, I have even asked her before what that means, and she gets it. She tells us that she knows Heavenly Father and Jesus are real and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know she doesn't fully understand yet, but it is still amazing to me that someone so little has such a spark!) After Alana told us her Testimony, she said "I have a testimony, but Charlotte has a Grumpymony. It was definitely past Charlotte's bedtime by that point.
Charlotte went right to bed, but Alana didn't go to sleep until closer to 10 pm. She was too excited I guess!
I folded laundry and watched "Letter to Juliet" (totally cheesy, but cute), and mixed up the breakfast casseroles for the following day. We had made Cookies for santa, so I put those out, and then ate them. :) It was fun to play "Santa," this is the first year any of our kids have really understood. Last year they both had the flu anyway.
It's always special to have a new baby at Christmas time. Having little Esther with us helped me to really understand the sacrifice Mary made to carry God's Son, and what a blessing He is to all of us!

I can't believe how big your girls are getting! Great idea on using the pictures to do the Nativity. Especially since you had already acted it out. I may have to steal that idea.
