Esther January 2012

Right now Esther is sitting on my lap. It is after 11 pm. She's not the best sleeper. Actually, she is an amazing napper, and she almost always falls asleep on her own in her own bed. But I can never predict when she'll go to sleep at night, or for how long. Her record is 7 hours. That happened this weekend and it's a good thing, because I was about to have a nervous breakdown from lack of sleep! We'll probably "sleep train" her in the not-too-distant future. But I'm not quite ready yet. And I keep hoping she'll figure it out on her own...sigh!

Our little baby is sitting all on her own! That is pretty normal for my kids, they have all started sitting at exactly 5 months. We started solids this week and she is pretty awful at eating from a spoon. Alana and Charlotte were too, but I'm trying something different with Esther. With the other girls I would nurse first and then offer solids, but now I'm offering solids first. We'll see if she gets the hang of the spoon. So far I think she's had less than a teaspoon of brown rice cereal actually enter her tummy.

This baby's little personality is just delightful. She is still pretty mellow, but she reserves some of her sweetest grins and giggles for her mommy. She LOVES her big sisters, and can't get enough of Alana playing with her. She rolls a little, mostly tummy to back, and is getting quite adept at grabbing things! We just love this roly poly darling!
