All I do is whine...

My friend Cheyenne is so positive. I love reading her blog because it always makes me want to be a better person. I've always loved that about her.

So, I am repenting.

This morning we discovered the source to our baby's crankiness: she was incredibly constipated. That may be "tmi" but now that she got that out of her system, we are hoping things will get better. I'm going nurse her exclusively for a couple days, then reintroduce peaches and maybe some peas. I think it is the "Beech Nut" brand of rice cereal that is the culprit. It has Sunflower oil in it. Weird...but also rice cereal is known for being low in fiber. We'll slowly work back in to oatmeal, and maybe try barley, and then some avocados that I froze ($.69 each at Walmart!)

Anyway, our sweet girl is having a much better day, and I am hoping to get some sleep tonight! :)

You could try giving her prunes. Those seemed to help Asher. Keep up the good work-- I love reading your blog.

Sadie had the same problems when we started her on rice cereal - and we were even using the Gerber stuff. Once we started giving her fruit, things went back to normal. What really works is fruit juice - sometimes it works a little TOO much! :) She's way cute though. Aren't they so much fun at this age?

Cooper can totally relate! WIC/a pediatrician at BYU health center recommended more water, juice (apple or pear, but pear is better they say). We do lots of prunes with Cooper and stayed away from cereals (especially rice) for a couple weeks. I have started oatmeal again, but am not doing it every day, just to be careful. WIC dietitian recommended what you are doing--go back to just nursing for about a week, then she said to start re-introducing foods again slowly. good luck! I know it's no fun--poor kids! Oh, and Coop was on the gerber cereal too, so I don't know if that really makes a difference...
