The title only vaguely relates to this post. It is a song from "My Fair Lady", which coincidently happens to be playing at PTC right now, and which also is my favorite musical.
MY question is this : "Why can't the national legislative body be more like Utah's legislative body?"
If you read this article, you might see my point.
Not that I want to see funding cut for universities or roads, but it's WAY better than having a $272 million deficit...
As a matter of interest, Ron Bigelow, quoted in this article, is in Stuart's parent's ward. Talk about a brush with greatness, woot!
I just have to say, although I'm not pleased with Huntsman trying to push vouchers, he really does seem aggressive in trying to give better funding to public education, and at least he listened to the voice of the people. Way to go, John!
Finally, here is the last verse to the aforementioned song. I suppose I shouldn't like it, but it is slightly funny...and very egocentric (apparently the brilliant Henry Higgins never moved beyond that stage of development...)
Well, why can't a woman be like us?
[To Mrs. Pearce]
Mrs. Pearce, you're a woman...
Why can't a woman be more like a man?
Men are so decent, such regular chaps.
Ready to help you through any mishaps.
Ready to buck you up whenever you are glum.
Why can't a woman be a chum?
Why is thinking something women never do?
Why is logic never even tried?
Straight'ning up their hair is all they ever do.
Why don't they straighten up the mess that's inside?
Why can't a woman behave like a man?
If I was a woman who'd been to a ball,
Been hailed as a princess by one and by all;
Would I start weeping like a bathtub overflowing?
And carry on as if my home were in a tree?
Would I run off and never tell me where I'm going?
Why can't a woman be like me?
