I only have 10 minutes!

"Where's my baby?" Asked the mommy.
"Hmmm...not in the living room. Not in the kitchen. Wait, I know, she's in the BATHROOM!"
Yes, like most kids our child's favorite room is the bathroom. Maybe because she loves taking baths. Maybe because the toilet is just so interesting "why DO mom and dad sit on that thing?" Maybe because the toilet paper possibilities are endless. The pipes behind the sink are also intriguing. The thing is, when we find her in the bathroom, she squeals and giggles like she KNOWS she's been caught! What a funny, cute, lovable girl!

A random assortment of eating pictures. This first one was taken about 5 seconds after the cheesy grin picture. And the stuff on her face is blueberries. Blueberries WERE her favorite food, until she tried mashed pinto beans, which she loves even more. Her lips were blue for a couple of days after this picture.

Two weeks ago we went to the Provo Christmas Parade on Center STreet and froze our tails off. But it was fun, and the Infangers came too. Things like that are more fun with older kids. :)

This was taken a couple of weeks ago when the baby woke up with one side of her hair flipped up. So I flipped up the other side too. I don't think I'll trying curling her hair again, at least not with anything hot. But it looked cute!

I realized a while ago that quite often when you compliment people's children, they say "Oh, if you only saw her when this." or, "but really he's such a terror." When I realized that I decided that when people compliment my child I will say "Why thank you, she really is such a (happy/cute/funny/smiley/great/etc) child." After all, most people know that everyone has their moments, and kids are still learning to navigate and control their emotions. So of course they aren't giggly and smiley ALL the time. But what damage do parents do when they talk bad about their kids in front of their kids? I don't want to imagine.

So, our baby is 10 months old. It's crazy! She's so big, so independent, and yet she follows me whereever I go and pulls herself up to put her head between my legs. She knows what a cell phone is for, and today I caught her jabbering into Stuart's old phone while holding it up to her ear. (It was hysterical and amazing at the same time...and also made me think about how careful I have to be about what I do if a 10 month old can imitate me!) She knows what she wants, she's learning a few signs, and my favorite site is her little bum when she's speed crawling around the house. Just so amazing that 19 months ago I didn't even know about her! And NOW!! WOW!!

She's getting so big! Is she walking yet? I know she's taken some steps, so I was wondering if she's walking more. Anyway, happy ten month birthday Alana!

Wow ten months! Doesn't it go by so fast! And it is so hard to imagine life without them, isn't it? I can't remember life without Kyler or Eldon. They are so great and it is amazing what they pick up on!
