Lately I have wished that time could stand still for a moment and I could imprint the sweet moments on my brain forever. My children are so darling, and although we have our difficult days (and often weeks) there is always something each day that reminds me not only of why I love being a mom, but also of how much God loves me! Here are a few things I don't want to forget.
This afternoon Stuart, Charlotte, and I were resting on our big bed. Alana came in and said "Mom, if you don't come play with me you're going to be in time OUT!" She often reminds me to do what I need to do and want to do. I get distracted so easily!!
Charlotte LOVES hand puppets. We have a tiger puppet affectionately named "Bongo," and his Zebra side-kick "Zongo." While Alana wants Stuart and I to animate the puppets, Charlotte always holds out her hands for us to help her wear the puppet. And she just giggles and jabbers to the puppets while wriggling her hand. SO cute!
Today Alana was singing the days of the week song to me. This is how it went: "Monday, Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, Latter Days." I just can't get enough of these kids!! OK, sometimes I have moments (or hours) where I just want to do my own thing! Those are the days that don't seem to go as well. When I stop focusing on cleaning the house, or how many hours until ________(nap, meal, bed, Daddy coming home) I am able to focus on the joy of my calling as a mother.
When Charlotte wants something you have (e.g. a drink, a snack, a toy), she leans toward it excitedly and says "dat, dat, dat!" If you take something she has she screams at you.
If you ask Charlotte a question, she will usually shake her head and say "na." Unless you ask "Charlotte, are you a cute baby?" Then she'll nod!
This week Charlotte signed "Thank you," "Please," "Love you," and "bear." She can't say any of these words, which is just so different from Alana, who could say a word long before she could/would sign it. Alana really enjoys learning sign language too. The other day she asked me how you sign hot dog. We still need to look that one up.

You're a great mom, Crystal!
Are you a cute baby? Ha ha ha. I'm going to ask that next time I see Charlotte. I still think it is awesome that she can sign.
