Here is my question to all readers. If you have anything helpful, please share:
*HOW do you keep your white clothes white? Mine always seem to turn a grayish-white color. What am I doing wrong? Bleach doesn't seem to help, nor does oxyclean. Thanks!

Cotton doesn't grow in pure white, so they often have to dye the cloth white. Just like black fades in the wash, the whiteness fades in the wash and you get the grayish color that cotton comes in and you really can't bleach it back, or at least I've never figured it out. It just happens sometimes.
If it's garments, though- nylon mesh keeps its whiteness well, but it's not very stretchy at all. You could try other non-cotton varieties, too like the satin-y ones.
get a rubber/plastic (not metal) bucket & let soak in a mixture of 1 Gallon Hot Hot Hot water, 1 c. powder dish detergent, ½ c. bleach. And stir with
wooden spoon every 10 minutes. Dump the water out after an hour or so and run them through the washer. Wala!!! It even gets out yellow armpit stains!
Don't buy them! Hee hee!
I got this from Karen: dd 1 c. of Cascade Dishwasher Detergent and 1 c. of Clorox II to a bucket of the hottest water to come out of your faucet. Soak several articles of clothing overnight and wash as usual.
Also the sun on a very sunny day does miracles! Unfortunately we're here in Utah with the weather getting colder... I've also googled some things with vinegar, it'd be worth checking out.
I don't know how to get things back to white, but I use Tide Color safe bleach (I think that's what it is called). It keeps colors bright on all of my clothes and is excellent at getting stains out. I love Oxyclean (blue squirtbottle)! Good luck! I haven't used actual bleach before. I heard it wears away on clothes a lot (thinning) if used too much. Is that true?
