Double Trouble

Charlotte woke up early Tuesday morning terribly congested. She's had trouble sleeping, breathing, and being happy since then. Her cough has been awful, and she had a bad fever. I worried that she had an ear infection on top of it, but the nurse scoffed at me (in my mind) and said "usually colds last 7-10 days, so give her a few days and then we'll talk about having her seen." Which is fine, really, because there is nothing I hate more than taking a sick baby to the doctor and them telling me "she has a cold. She'll get over it." Always makes me feel stupid!

Anyway, finally this morning, she was just SO fussy (last night was a great night, we almost got a 6 hour stretch of sleep!!) So I made an appointment, borrowed my neighbor's minivan (she watched Alana for me) and went. We had to wait a while. I was tired and grumpy, and Charlotte was worse. But when the Doc came in and peeked in her ear he said "on a scale of 1 to 10, that's a 9." The other ear was the same. Pretty bad ear infections! Sure makes me feel bad for letting Charlotte cry at 11 last night when I couldn't get her to bed and finally decided I had to get some sleep! She cried until almost midnight, then woke up at 5:45 am. No wonder. Her ears hurt. Worst mom ever?! Ok, not really, but I sure feel bad!


Anyway, we've got an antibiotic and she's on a cold medication to help drain everything. Right now she's screaming because Alana isn't sharing with her. Sigh. I need a nap. Better get off the computer. :)

Additionally, she's been cutting her first set of molars the last few weeks. I think the last one will break through soon! My poor baby!!
