Alana has been in school for almost 2 months. She is enjoying 2nd grade, and not just the part when she has recess. Of course we have always known that Alana is brilliant, but we found out that she scored in the 99%ile in her math IOWA tests last year. Not that I care too much for standardized test scores, but it gave me confidence that I hadn't made a bad choice to homeschool her last year. School was a little rough starting off, and I think she is pretty timid and quiet in school, but hopefully she will warm up.
Alana listened to the first 4 FableHaven and Harry Potter books this summer. She really enjoys fantasy literature.
Alana is enjoying her UACC choir experience, she had her first concert this weekend, singing the National Anthem at the Uof A volleyball game!
Picking flowers.
I found this frog while Alana was at school so I took a picture because she LOVES frogs!
At the school carnival.
Alana is probably going to be a teacher. She loves to teach Esther her letters, numbers, and piano. She regularly creates "worksheets" to "test" Esther.
One thing I have noticed lately is that Alana is a very compassionate kid. If someone gets hurt, she rushes over to help. She always helps when I ask her to, and she loves hugging and snuggling. She also enjoys teasing her siblings, which sometimes leads to conflict!
I am overjoyed to be the mother of this sweet girl!!
