Our child is 17 months old today! I'm trying to restrain my excitement over her starting nursery next month, but if you saw how active she is in church, you'd be right there with me! Might I get to catch a few Relief Society lessons before the new baby arrives?!!
Here are some tidbits about our munchkin:
1. Did I mention how active she is? Who needs a cardio program when I've got this little one to run after? One of our daily activities involves walking up and down our street, looking for bugs, finding apples and sticks, and throwing rocks (any suggestions on how to make that last one less beguiling to a toddler?!)
2. This child's vocab has exploded. Language development is SO fun to watch. She surprises us all the time with the words she knows and the things she comprehends. And she understands how to use the same word in a different situation. For example, she'll say "hold" and hold up her arms if she wants to be held; when Baby Shaely came to visit, she said "hold" because she wanted to hold the baby; and then when she was holding her water cup and wanted me to hold it so she could pick something up she said "hold" and handed the cup to me. WOW! Some of the words she says "meh-sin" (for medicine), "hebby" (for heavy), hmmmm, and I'd have to ask Julie the rest because Julie always gets a kick out of teaching her new words! It's so funny!!
3. She loves reading "boom-boom."
4. She can find the letter O on of any page. And today on her dad's shirt. I have no idea how she learned this. I was trying to teach her "a."
5. She knows animals like "effants", "ines"(lions), "winos", "goat", "padda"(panda), "kala"(koala), and many more. The child likes to read.
6. She still LOVES blueberries. And grapes!
7. No, I am not going to cut her bangs. Not yet.
That's a good idea about her, except to say that she is the most darling thing in the world. Sometimes I gush over her, because she's so great. I'll be completely honest, the tantrums would drive me crazy if it wasn't for prayer, the nursery manual (I sometimes pull it out to try and calm her down and we go through the pictures), and going outside! But what a dear little one she is!! Thanks for letting me brag. :)
