By the way...

I forgot to mention that after 2 weeks of trying cloth diapers, I concluded that it wasn't for me. You know when you have so much on your plate that you feel like you're going crazy? Well, I did this weekend, and as I was swishing poo out of a diaper (no, the liners aren't completel protection from poop) I suddenly thought "I hate this, I'm not doing this anymore." I feel so relieved. I think cloth diapers are a great idea. I admire people who use them. I also admire people who think about it and say "you know, that just doesn't work for me." No guilt about landfills here. So for those of you who didn't think it would last, you can gloat if you'd like. It's ok. I'm glad I know that it isn't for me right now. Maybe later in life I'll try it again.

And I think Little Girl didn't like the cloth diapers either. Just wanted to share.

I think you are nuts! I mean that in a nice way ;)! I have no idea how they used to only have cloth diapers. I am all about disposable. They only thing we use the cloth diapers for are burp cloths. We buy our diapers and wipes in bulk at costco! Love that place!

You are right; if it stresses you out too much, it's not worth it. And the older babies (toddlers) seem more resistant to the switch (someone else I know had the same experience). If you do decide to try them later with another baby, here's my tip for when the liners leak on the sides or back: I wipe it as much as I can with toilet paper, then when it is time to do laundry, I throw the diapers in the machine, and any diapers that still have some residual poo on them, I just run the diaper under the water that is filling up the machine and scrub it against itself and it comes quite clean. Then I am avoiding toilets, the diaper is clean, and it's taken care of right when I am doing laundry and no extra time anywhere else. Then I just wash my hands and let the machine do the rest.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you switching back to disposable diapers. I'm glad you tried cloth diapers and learned for yourself if you could do it or not. It is important to know our limits.

I'm sure you're glad you tried. Now at least you know you don't like them :) I can't even picture myself attempting it!
