Chex...or Chips?!

On Saturday night the dear child had a difficult time sleeping, possibly due to the large protuberance sticking out from her gums in the back. After about 2 hours of being up with her, I finally coaxed her back to sleep, poor dear. When I went back to be (it was around 5 am) I told DH that he would need to get up with her. So when she woke up less than 2 hours later, he sleepily dragged himself out of bed! (What a nice guy!) I, also sleepily, instructed him to feed Little Girl some fruit and Chex. (a fortified cereal, so she can get all the iron she needs.)

Almost 2 hours later Little Girl was pounding on my door saying "mom! MOM!" She wanted me. DH came in the room and we switched shifts (no wonder parents have so little time together, they're too busy helping each other catch up on sleep!) DH's information was "I gave her peaches, yogurt, and chips."

"CHIPS!" I said, shocked and slightly upset.

"You said to give her fruit and chips," was his defense.

"No, I said feed her fruit and CHEX."

"Oh...I thought you said 'chips.'"

I can laugh about it now, but my degree of fatigue at the time was such that I was rather grumpy that he would feed our small toddler chips for breakfast.

At least they were Sun Chips.

ha ha. Men are funny. I asked Mike to give Fox some fruit tonight and he gave him squash. He thought I said food...not fruit :)
