I'm so crafty

I found this blog, and the title makes me laugh: Oops, I craft my pants {off}. I know, funny, right?

I read a lot of crafty blogs and see cute stuff and think "wow, I wish I was crafty." I decided that instead of wishing, I should just do it. Certain crafts don't really appeal to me, but there are some that I enjoy, such as basic sewing, card-making, crochet, digital scrapbooking (still learning, I'll have to post my sis's baby shower invite, it turned out cute!) etc...

Anyway, I wanted to show off my latest craft. I wasn't going to make Baby Sis a blankie, since I have SO many, but I decided I wanted her to have a special blankie from mommy. Jewls and I went to a nearby fabric store and saw the CUTEST rag quilts on display. They even had kits to make them...for $30+!! So Jewls decided to do her own, and ended up getting enough fabric for 4 quilts for around $45! Last week when I decided to make one, Jewls came and helped me. I wanted yellow/purple colors, but couldn't find anything cute, so ended up with super girly, almost Valentine-like colors. But I still like the quilt, I think it turned out cute. And I learned how to bind a quilt. So don't judge my sewing too harshly, this is the first quilt I have ever bound!

I ended up with extra material so I made Little Girl a blanket for her dolly. (And I have some left I'm thinking of making a quilt for when The Girl is ready for a Big Girl Bed...hopefully a few months away still!)

Here is the finished product: (I still need to wash a few times!)

Click on the pics to see up close. I think I will add a tutorial to my Frugal Mom Blog. Also, check out my October Crock Pot Challenge!

Love it! The dark purple for the binding was definitely a good idea, it looks great!
