Tonight the girls and I were rolling out pizzas and discussing the future. Charlotte wants to be a ballet dancer, or a zookeeper when she grows up. Esther wants to be a mommy flying squirrel. With babies. I did not have the heart to shatter her dreams.
Later I asked Esther to tell her daddy about her plans for the future. "Esther, tell Daddy what you want to be when you grow up."
"A doctor," she responded.
"No," I insisted. "Tell him what you told me earlier today." I thought it was so cute and I wanted her to share.
"A horse rider."
"You can be a horse rider, that's a great idea, but tell Daddy what you said earlier, remember?" I whispered. "A flying squirrel."
"Oh, I want to be a mommy flying squirrel with babies," she finally admitted.
Then I asked "so when you grow up you are suddenly going to change into a new kind of animal."
"Yep!"
